UNIV CONFERENCE IN ROME

Every year students at Coniston have the opportunity to take part in the well known UNIV university congress in Rome.

Since 1968, the Institute for University Cooperation –ICU– has organized the annual International UNIVersity Congress to encourage the thoughts and initiatives of students regarding key issues, in order to shape the future of our world. The congress ambien no prescription features internationally recognized speakers, along with papers, posters and videos selected by the Scientific Committee from students all over the world.

Students from Coniston have attended the congress since 1994 and taken part, alongside 1000 other students from all over the world, in the final session in Rome.

2013 BEST PRIVATE HALL AWARD WINNER

Coniston Hall received the 2013 Best Private Hall Award on 21st June from Cooper Healey, Manager, Manchester Student Homes. Some of the comments submitted by the students were:

“The great difference that makes it stand out as a hall of residence is the relationship between every resident in this hall and with the staff. The environment of the hall makes you feel that it is a second home for you.”

“It has a great atmosphere for studying, and is one of the cleanest halls I’ve been in! The people there are lovely, I have made such good ordering flomax friends, and the food is also great as well.”

“Coniston is not like any other hall. The staff are amazingly kind and friendly and really help me to achieve the academic excellence I need”

“The wardens and other staff are extremely helpful and knowledgeable, they treat you very kindly and ensure your safety at all times. There are also volunteer opportunities at Coniston if you have the time/desire to be involved, as it benefits the local community as is great for your CV.”

SIR HOWARD BERNSTEIN VISITS CONISTON HALL

Today Sir Howard Bernstain, Chief Executive, Manchester City Council, visited Coniston Hall accompanied by Sara Tomkins, Assistant Chief Executive. After dinner he described the three key elements that make Manchester a world class city: the universities, the people, and the infrastructure. He communicated to us his vision, his passion and his commitment to a continuous buy accutane online enhancement of the city and its people. He also shared with us some of the key moments of his tenure, such as the 2002 Commonwealth Games and the 1996 Manchester bombing.

NEW VOLUNTEERING PROJECT

 On Monday 18th March we will start volunteering at St Joseph Primary School in Longsight. Fran, Sehrish and others will listen to the children read. We are planning to start homework club at the same school order propecia online soon. If you would like to volunteer and are free from 1 to 3 pm any weekday other than Friday, or from 3.30 to 4.00 pm any day Tuesday to Thursday, please contact us on info@conistonhall.org.uk.
